This week’s Feature Friday shines a spotlight on a remarkable opportunity for those looking to launch a career in tech: The Marcy Lab School. If traditional college isn't your path, Marcy Lab’s innovative software engineering and data analytics programs are designed to set you on a direct course toward a high-impact tech career.

The Program

Marcy Lab offers a one-year fellowship that blends intensive software engineering or data analytics training with professional and leadership development. The curriculum prepares students for the tech industry by fostering not only technical skills but also the confidence to be future leaders and advocates for equity.

Eligibility Requirements

To apply for the Marcy Lab Fellowship, you must meet the following criteria:

• [Software Engineering] Be 18-24 years old at the start of the Fellowship.

• [Data Analytics] Be 20-24 years old at the start of the Fellowship.

• Possess a high school diploma (or equivalent) by the start of the Fellowship.

• Not hold a bachelor’s degree or higher (Associate’s degrees are acceptable).

• Not be enrolled in a two-year or four-year degree program during your Fellowship period.

• Be legally authorized to work in the United States.

• Commit to full-time study (40-50+ hours per week).

• Be ready for a hybrid learning model: 2 days virtual and 3 days on-site at Industry City, Brooklyn.

  • Interview Window: January 23 – 29, 2025

  • Final Decisions: January 30, 2025

• Application Round 2:

  • Candidate Exercise: January 31 – February 12, 2025

  • Interview Window: March 5 – 11, 2025

  • Final Decisions: March 12 – 13, 2025

• Application Round 3:
