If you’re passionate about using technology to make a difference, the U.S. Digital Corps (USDC) Fellowship is an incredible opportunity to launch a meaningful career in public service. Applications for the 2025 cohort of U.S. Digital Corps Fellows open this January, and the program is ready to welcome a new wave of talented individuals eager to bring their skills to the federal government.
The U.S. Digital Corps is more than a fellowship—it’s a platform for innovation, impact, and growth. Fellows contribute to critical projects across federal agencies, leveraging their expertise in fields like software engineering, data science, and product management to solve some of the nation’s most pressing challenges. Whether you’re a recent graduate, a veteran, or an experienced technologist, this is your chance to make a difference.
There are 5 different tracks for this fellowship:
Software Engineering
Data Science and Analytics
Product Management
Design
Cyber Security
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the program, you must:
Be a United States citizen or national.
Be available to start full-time in August 2025.
Meet the requirements for the Pathways Recent Graduates program, which includes:
Graduating by July 15, 2025 if currently enrolled, OR
Being a recent graduate (within two years) of an associate, bachelor’s, master’s, or doctoral program, OR
Completing a career/technical program like Peace Corps or AmeriCorps, or a Registered Apprenticeship Program.
Have at least one cumulative year of experience related to your desired track (paid/unpaid internships, volunteer work, or student organizations count), OR
Hold an advanced degree in a technology field.
Application Timeline
January: Applications open!
February-March: Project-based assessment and resume review
March-April: Interview with subject matter expert in your track
May: Interview with project agencies
June: Final Selections and tentative offers
July-August: Pre-employment process
August: Onboarding, orientation, and Fellow welcome!
Work Environment
Fellows can work remotely, in person, or in a hybrid model depending on the needs of their agency. While many agencies are headquartered in Washington, D.C., you can negotiate your location during the selection process. Travel costs for official duties and events are covered by the program.
